The new “Micralite Twofold” buggy prototype was unveiled at the 2011 Kind + Jugend Baby Trade show in Cologne  

The “Micralite” brand has, we feel, produced a real winner with this inventive new product adding to the rapidly expanding one-to-two child convertible pushchair market.

Building on the success of Phil and Teds and icandy convertible pushchairs, where an extra seat is added this product is bound to prove a big success when it is launched in the Spring / Summer of 2012.  The “Micralite Two fold” is different in that instead of the second seat taking up space under the main seat, the second child sits in a position behind the original seat and shopping basket. We feel that parents will warm to the fact that the second child doesn't sit with their legs in the shopping basket and that space can still be used.

Micralite has achieved this by adding a new style of conversion kit to the “Two fold”. Its patented new design includes a latch mechanism that moves the rear wheels back and extends the wheelbase of the stroller. Micralite claims that its Twofold design provides greater stability and this in turn allows heavier loads to be safely carried.

“Micralite” also state that the double pushchair option with the additional rear seat attached weighs only 10kgs!!  This is really light for an inline double pushchair and sure to appeal to parents.

The MicraliteTwo-fold can be used in several different configurations such as: Single seat, short wheelbase stroller, Single seat, long wheelbase stroller using the massive 40 litre shopping bag. Double seat, long wheelbase double stroller. Single seat, long wheelbase stroller with a ride-on board for a toddler.

The design shown in the image is a prototype which was previewed at Kind + Jugend with Micralite expecting to launch the final version in Spring / Summer 2012

We are really excited about the launch of this product as it offers parents a practical product that is both lightweight and multi-functional. We will review this product further when we have viewed the final version........Watch this space!!!!
