‘Mamas and Papas Herbie’ is the newest addition to the ‘Ziko range’. Just to clarify, Ziko is a funky range from Mamas and Papas, and previous to the creation of ‘Herbie’, the Ziko buggy was the only pushchair in the range, which is a light weight, stylish, compact buggy. Herbie is a step up – it comes inclusive of all the necessary components and can transform into a travel system. Herbie is a more substantial, more versatile and inclusive system, that has the ability to convert into a travel system or a pram. Herbie is an incredibly dynamic pushchair that includes many components and accessories to enable the system suit any of your needs. Herbie as a Pushchair… Herbie is suitable from birth and the funky designed pushchair seat can face outwards to the world, or rearwards towards mum and dad. Herbie has a handy 3 positional backrest recline, to keep your little one comfortable and content at all times. Herbie boasts a removable bumper bar, which will make riding fun and safe. Herbie is highly compact and the easily collapsible chassis is great for those with a lack of storage or a smaller sized boot. Herbie is fab to push; Herbie has 2 rear air tyres, and 2 highly manoeuvrable, swivel front wheels which make pushing your Herbie around town very easy. All of Herbie’s wheels are quick release and have all round wheel suspension, which make using and caring for Herbie simple. Herbie also features an adjustable handle and a very generously sized shopping basket. Herbie as a Pram… Herbie can easily transform into a pram system; combining the benefits of a traditional carrycot with the convenience of a light weight, compact and manoeuvrable chassis. There are many health benefits to laying baby totally flat for the first few months, and the Herbie Carry Cot is the perfect place to lay your little one – keeping them cosy and snug during the most delicate newborn months. Herbie’s Carry Cot is suitable for over night sleeping, with the purchase of the separate Mamas and Papas Moses Basket Mattress and Carrycot Stand. With the addition of these accessories, you will be able to take the Herbie chassis and carrycot away with you; ideal for visiting friends or family. Attaching the Herbie Carry Cot is incredibly simple; the pushchair fabrics are easily attached and removed from the frame by detaching press studs and clips which handily can be stored away. Herbie’s Carry Cot can also face inwards or away, giving you ultimate freedom! Herbie as a Travel System… Herbie has the potential to convert into a travel system with the addition of the new Pro-Sleep IP or Primo Viaggio IP infant carriers using the separate car seat adaptors. The Pro Sleep IP is a new infant carrier from Mamas and Papas, that is a conventional rear-facing infant carrier, which has the ability to be reclined whilst not in use in the car; so that baby has a nearer lie-flat position, ideal for newborn babies. The Primo Viaggio is Mamas and Papas best selling infant carrier, which can be used in conjunction with an ISOfix or non-ISOfix base, or the conventional 3-point adult belt. Like the Herbie Carry Cot, you can attach either car seat option very easily onto the Herbie chassis, making whizzing about town or nipping in-and-out of the car very easy. Herbie comes inclusive of the chassis, carrycot, pushchair, footmuff/liner, changing bag, parasol, rain cover and pump for the tyres. Our View… is that Herbie does have a stylish and sweet look, with all the necessary components included in the price, which makes Herbie very practical. However, once you realise Herbie’s actual weight – which is approximately 11.5kg and about 12.5kg with the carrycot on the chassis – it seems obvious that from Herbie’s look, it is trying to mimic other manufacturer’s genuinely well designed pushchairs which are more light weight, better value for money and better quality all-round. Herbie may seem like a good deal because of all its inclusive accessories, but its build-quality, design and features just simply do not compare to other competitors, like iCandy or Bugaboo for example. Also, Herbie’s handle is not height adjustable, which may make pushing Herbie uncomfortable for some.
