The Jane ‘Slalom Pro’ is a ‘first class’ three wheeled pushchair, which is suitable for all purposes but in particular for going ‘off road’. Guaranteed, once you push Slalom and get a taste for its ability – you will not want to push anything else! The 'Jane Slalom Pro' is very robust, reasonably light and easy to manoeuvre - but more importantly, Slalom Pro is exceptionally adaptable; Slalom can convert into a travel system, with the use one of Jane’s car seat and lie-flat carrycot options. The Jane Slalom Pro' Chassis… Slalom has a front swivel wheel which can also be locked into a non-swivel position; this allows the Slalom to go both ‘off road’. Slalom’s front wheel has (on early models only) a disk brake - which is operated by hand on the handle of the chassis, which not only aids folding but also means you always have total control. Both Slalom’s front wheel and disc brake can be quickly and easily removed – this is an advantage for maintenance, as proper ‘off road’ usage means you should keep all of Slalom’s moving components clean and lubricated.* The tyres on The "Jane Slalom Pro" are low profile, which spin very easily with virtually no effort, due to Slalom’s high quality ball bearings – which are internally packed in the hub of each wheel. Slalom’s rear wheels, like the front wheel, are easily removed, by simply pushing in the button located in the centre of the wheel. The Pushchair affords a good sized shopping basket and the chassis has the ability to change suspension strengths from ‘hard’ to ‘soft’ dependant on weight being carried and the type of terrain. Located in the centre of 'Jane Slalom’s Pro's' rear axle is a sleeve onto which can be connected a ‘Surfer Board’ - Jane’s very own version of a buggy board. With the Surfer attached, it is ideal for a toddler and it is still possible to fold the pushchair without removing the Surfer from Slalom - in fact the Surfer folds under the pushchair and is totally out of the way. At the top of Slalom’s handle, there is a lever which activates the front disk brake, and this actually aids folding the pushchair down to a compact size. To erect the 'Jane Slalom Pro', simply push down on the lock and pull back – a ‘click’ will indicate Slalom’s chassis being in the correct position. To make pushing comfortable for everyone, Slalom’s handle has three different handle heights, and in general Slalom will suit everyone between 5 foot and 6 foot 4 inches tall. Finally, located on Slalom’s rear axle is the parking brake - which is engaged simply by pushing down with the foot. Slalom as a Pushchair… The 'Jane Slalom' is technically a pushchair suitable from six months onwards and boasts a multi position and large/wide pushchair seat, that is easy to adjust. On the rear of Slalom’s pushchair seat is a strap – simply pull the strap down to recline, and lift up to make Slalom’s seat upright. Slalom is well padded, usually comes with a head hugger/pad depending on model and is of a high quality fabric which can be removed for cleaning purposes. Slalom also has an adjustable leg rest, a bumper bar with removable, washable covers. Please note that Slalom’s seat, which can be easily wiped clean, does not have to be removed before folding Slalom* - and this is a significant advantage over many of its competitors.* 'Slalom' boasts a generously sized ‘winter hood’, which provides excellent coverage allowing the back section to be removed to convert the hood into a ‘sun canopy’ in the summer months. On the back of Slalom’s hood, is a rear pocket which is provided to carry personal effects. Also on some models, a viewing panel is available for the parents to see their child. Although Slalom is clearly a great stand-alone-pushchair, most people buy it as a travel system, using one the three different car seats Jane offer. Slalom has the unique ‘Pro-Fix’ system which allows parents to fix the car seat of their choice from the Jane range straight into the chassis.
